Professor Ali Al-Sherbaz

Ali holds a PhD form the University of Buckingham – UK. He is currently the Academic Director for Digital Skills courses (Data Science, AI and Cyber Security) at the Institute of Continuing Education, University of Cambridge. He has a strong academic track record and has published over 100 research papers. He has supervised more than 20 PhD research students, and guided more than 100 MSc students to completion.
In terms of research, Ali focuses on cybersecurity, mobile communications, and network security, particularly in relation to emerging technologies like 5G, AI, Blockchain, and Data Science. He has contributed to the establishment of a Blockchain Lab and has secured funding for PhD students in this field. He actively promotes research culture, encourages grant applications, and collaborates with other researchers.
He previously served as Head of the Cybersecurity and Technical Computing Department at the University of Gloucestershire and as Director of Research and Innovation at the University of Northampton.
Dr Aran Emini
LIUM – France
Aran Emini is a research engineer at LIUM (Laboratoire d’Informatique de l’Université du Mans). He is currently conducting research on speech translation for low-resource languages and speech stream translation.
Aran Emini obtained his PhD in Computer Science from Avignon University in 2023, focusing on the robustness of speaker recognition systems. His main research interests include speaker recognition, automatic speech recognition, machine translation, and speech translation.
He is also the founder of Jiridastkrd.com, a platform aimed at providing key speech technologies for the Kurdish language.
